We are delighted to introduce Caitlin Stewart as our Children, Young Person & Families Co-ordinator for the Aberdeen area.
Caitlin will be developing activities and a programme of support for our amazing children and young people with cancer, those in remission who would like some support, and for families who have sadly lost their precious child.
If you know of anyone who would benefit from our support please contact Caitlin on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Jak’s Den HQ on 01506 412302 and we will put you in touch with her.
We also have a Facebook page for families in the Aberdeen area- Jaks Denners Aberdeen. If you are a warrior or angel family and would like to join it to keep up to date with what we are doing then please put in a request to join.
Emmeline McCracken is our Music Therapist for this area and she would be delighted to take referrals from any of our families who feel that music therapy would benefit their child or a sibling.
We also have a Counsellor in place for any parents or grandparents struggling with their child’s diagnosis, journey or sadly if they have been bereaved and we would be honoured to help in any way we can.
We can arrange any of the support above for you by emailing Caitlin or email@example.com or by phoning Jak’s Den HQ on 01506 412302.
We also have two amazing Patrons in Aberdeen at the moment- Zara Janjua from STV and Laura Pike who is well known in the area for her wonderful Musical Theatre and teaching. Thank you ladies for all your support.
We couldn’t have got as far as we have so far with our plans for Aberdeen without three very special people. We are hugely grateful to Tanya Turnbull and Graeme Dorrance who lost their wee boy Sam in 2016, and to Anna Todd who also sadly lost her wee boy Charlie later that year too. Without their determination for us to help families in Aberdeen and them enlisting support from other families and friends we would not be where we are and as far along the road to creating our Aberdeen Den. Thank you Tanya, Graeme and Anna and to all the amazing volunteers we have in Aberdeen so far.
We are delighted to have appointed a part-time Fundraiser, Chris Grant to our Aberdeen team and whilst Chris will be predominantly working with corporate fundraising he will also be helping Caitlin build a team of amazing volunteers and fundraisers which will help raise the £70,000 we need to open our Den in Aberdeen.
If you would like to volunteer for any of our fundraising activities in Aberdeen we’d love to hear from you. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Jak’s Den HQ on 01506 412302 and we will give you more information.
We have a Fundraising group for Aberdeen on Facebook called Team Jak Ambassadors Aberdeen which you can then join once we have interviewed you, checked references and received your new pvg.
We are always looking to recruit more companies to partner as their Charity of the Year. This not only helps us raise much needed money to support our children and young people with cancer, it also helps spread more awareness for Team Jak and our plans to open a Jak’s Den in Aberdeen in order that we can support even more of our young people.
If you would be interested in making us your charity of the year then please get in touch at email@example.com
We currently have some tins placed in stores within Aberdeen in and around Union Street. If you work somewhere that would take a tin for their counter, bar or even in the office staff room, then please let us know and we can organize this for you.
