Join our team of amazing fundraisers who help us provide these much needed services to our young people and their families. Without funding and fundraising we couldn’t survive- and that would mean more isolation and loneliness for many families facing the diagnosis or loss of their child through cancer.

About Team Jak

Team Jak SC045586 (SCIO) was set up at the request of inspirational teenager Jak Trueman following his own journey with childhood cancer.

Inspired by Jak’s dreams we aim to:

  • Give hope to all warriors (those diagnosed with cancer) and friends by providing excellent service at all levels which promotes the wellbeing of our children and young people age 0-25 and their families
  • Provide understanding and comfort to those newly diagnosed and going through treatment
  • Create moments and adventures to shine through the darkness
  • Give opportunities within Jak’s Den- an inspirational haven with high quality resources where young people can escape to and have fun in
  • Provide emotional social and practical support within Jak’s Den through counselling, play therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, alternative therapies, befriending, support groups and drop-in sessions using qualified and experienced staff
  • Support siblings at all times as requested and required
  • Provide outreach services to those who can’t access Jak’s Den
  • Give practical support to children and families in hospital by supplying snacks and drinks to the hospitals and goodie bags for newly diagnosed children and their siblings
  • Provide counselling and support and hold special memory days and group sessions for angel families (families of children who have sadly died) with bespoke support for siblings
  • Educate and empower schools and communities in how they can support friends and peers with cancer or those bereaved
  • Work closely with hospitals and other support services and charities to ensure we are providing a high quality service to our families
  • Continue to raise awareness for the need for blood, platelet and bone marrow donors and research for blood and all childhood cancers
